Overwatch player punishment system getting update ‘soon’

Overwatch

As is the case with any competitive online game, Overwatch can sometimes suffer from a toxic community. This comes in form of leavers, AFKers, or just plain ol’ a**holes that ruined the gameplay experience for everyone.

Although Blizzard has attempted to address the issue in the past — implementing matchmaking timeouts and increased XP loss in Competitive mode — they’ve had little noticeable impact (at least at the lower ranked levels).

Well, good news is on the way!

Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan has promised that a post about updates to the game’s punishment system are “coming soon.” We don’t know what these updates will be, but it’s exciting that Blizzard is at least planning to address the issue.
